Congrat's Jay McCarroll - Project Runway Winner
He Said:
I just want to start off and say that Bravo really did a great job with this show,Project Runway. This was definately our favorite show of the season, but I am sad its over. Kara Saun did a great job with her line, but I myself felt there was too much 'Marilyn Manroe over the subway grate' influence, but it was a great wearable collection. Wendy, Wendy, Wendy, we were actually pleasantly surprised with her set of goodies, even though the boobies were out of character, they definately spiced up the show. Most of her collection really clicked nicely and I thought it was well put together despite what Michael Kors said. Jay's was very funky yet held together well, and his stuff would go great with some of our dangle earrings and chandelier earrings. But I do agree on one thing with the judges, monotone is out, just think if Jay wore fuscia jumpsuit from head to toe. If he should have thought about if he would want to wear the line himself, if he was a girl. But it was a fun collection and the blue outfit was stunning with the thick lapel and the knits were gorgeous. Hopefully next year I can score a seat for his new line because I'm for one am addicted to Jay!
She Said:
I almost agree with what HE says... yet as a woman and a man, our opinions still differ slightly. I actually think Wendy is a good designer - she just comes from another generation and can design only for that generation. She got lucky on the previous shows making a couple edgy designs (like that gorgeous skirt and top for the Grammys), but I think she's good when it comes to the more conservative designs. But I gotta say I still hate the lady - what an attitude!
On the other hand Kara Saun's design were impeccable and modern with a slight touch of old Hollywood class. They would make anyone look sophisticated. When I saw them at first, I was sure Kara would win. But then Jay's designs hit the runway, and I can't explain why but I agree with the judges and he's the best. They're simply cool and real. Jay is the best, and I think I like him more than HE does because I actually think you've got to have a lot of talent to be able to pull of such great design in monotone colors. If you've ever tried to wear different garments in similar colors together, you've gotta know how much it takes to actually make them look good together. Good luck with this great opportunity, Jay!
